Safely removes runes, gems and jewels from socketed Magic, Rare, Crafted, Set and Unique items. The key and contents return.

Replaces the ordinary Tome you would normally carry. It returns when used for the Cow Portal and its special socket-clearing recipe.
Socketed Magic, Rare, Crafted, Set or Unique item + Skeleton Key. The item, contents and key return separately. A completed runeword is a Normal-quality base and is not covered by these safe recipes.
Socketed item + Hel Rune + Town Portal Scroll. The base returns empty, but every rune, gem and jewel inside is destroyed permanently.
Two-handed weapons, bows and crossbows roll 2–4. Other eligible weapons, helms, body armour and shields roll 1–2. Every roll is capped by that base item’s own maximum.
Search a named item or base. The value shown is its ceiling; the recipe’s own roll range still applies.
The left-hand side is everything placed in the Horadric Cube. The right-hand side is what transmuting produces. “The same input item” means your original item returns with the stated change.
A coloured frame communicates generic quality: blue for Magic, yellow for Rare, orange for Crafted, green for Set and gold for Unique. Representative thumbnails are used where a recipe accepts a broader item family or a flexible ingredient set.
